Tissot Seastar VISODATE T-12 SUPER COMPRESSOR Automatic 44MM Men's Watch with original GAY FRERES, Rolex BRACELET Inventor. Gay Frères, a bracelet manufacturer, designed the original Oyster bracelet in the 1930s. Gay Frères patented the Oyster bracelet design and name in 1947. Rolex adopted the Oyster bracelet for its sport models in the 1950s and 1960s. In 1998, Rolex acquired Gay Frères to streamline production. Gay Frères was a Swiss company that specialized in making metal bracelets for high-end watches. They also designed and supplied bracelets for other luxury brands, including Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin, and Audemars Piguet. My Father purchased this watch in Europe in the 70's and it has been sitting in his safe for nearly all of that time.
